Greetings!

Hello, and welcome to my shamelessly self-promoting blog space, a one-stop surf 'n' shop for all things Kim O'Donnel.

I'm thrilled to announce the release of A MIGHTY APPETITE FOR THE HOLIDAYS, my snug little cookbook expressly written for the upcoming feasting season, from Thanksgiving 'til New Year's Day. In just 80 pages, I dish up Thanksgiving dinner, from soup to nuts, with tips, tricks and a countdown planner, plus a buffet of entertaining ideas for the month of December, no matter which holiday you celebrate. A total of 30 recipes, the collection is from my personal treasure trove, with lots of fun stories and kitchen lessons learned along the way.

Small enough to tote on your commute or in your carry-on bag (or in someone's stocking!), A MIGHTY APPETITE FOR THE HOLIDAYS is a refreshing alternative to the heavier tomes that can overwhelm the aspiring cook during the most hectic time of the year.

There are two ways you can get your hands on a copy: Online ordering through blurb.com (see handy-dandy direct link on the right side of the page).....OR Come meet me in person at a D.C.-area book signing!

Scheduled events are:

Sat. Nov. 3 at Arlington Courthouse Farmer's Market, starting at 9 a.m., until noon.

Friday, Nov., 9, 6-8 p.m., at Tabletop, the hip-happening housewares/design shop in Dupont Circle. Stop by for a glass of wine and a nibble from the book -- and bring money, lots and lots of money!!

Visit this site early and often for updates on additional local events and book signings. And if you have an idea for a groovy book signing venue or cooking demo, please send me a note at: kimodo@kimodonnel.com

I've got sweet potatoes in the oven, so I've gotta dash. Keep the spirit of cooking alive!

Congratulations Kim. I plan to attend one of the book signings. I sure hope you will have one in Silver Spring - maybe at the Farmers Market in downtown Silver Spring(hint, hint) but alas our last market is October 27th.

Adrienne, thanks for your note. I'll probably just be getting my shipment of books around then, so a Silver Spring market signing seems unlikely. Do you know if Mayorga hosts signings for authors, by chance? That might be fun.
Just got word that I'll be participating in Book Bash, a book fair in Baltimore, on Sunday, Nov, 4. It's a fundraiser for Literacy Works. Tickets are $70, but it's a whole evening affair, with 50-some authors, food, entertainment, the whole nine.

Hi, Kim. I read your WA Post discussions all the time! Love them. Just as an fyi, your profile lists Afghanistan as your location...a glitch in the system?

Congrats on your cookbook! Look forward to reading it out here on the West Coast.

Love the support from the West Coast, Nicole! Checked out your blog, too, which is a lot of fun. I will add it to my list of bookmarks...
