Great news to share: I've been awarded a Duncan Eat-Write! Fellowship from The Writer's Colony at Dairy Hollow in Eureka Springs, Ark.
Later this month, I'll head to the Ozarks for two weeks of uninterrupted writing time, a room -- and a test kitchen -- of my own!

Kim Chats With Splendid Table Host Lynne Rossetto Kasper

Book Deal!
It's official -- Da Capo Press will be publishing "Licking Your Chops," my meat-less guide for meat lovers. The news was made official in today's Publisher's Weekly:
Da Capo Licks 'Chops'
ReneĆ© Sedliar, senior editor at Da Capo's Lifelong Books, took world rights to Kim O'Donnel's Licking Your Chops. The deal was closed by agents Sally Ekus and Lisa Ekus-Saffer. O'Donnel, a food blogger who oversaw the long-running weekly live chat “What's Cooking” for washingtonpost.com, offers 52 recipes for meals without meat, creating a companion for the “Meatless Mondays” initiative launched by Johns Hopkins's Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Cooking Up a Canvolution
For the past five weeks, I've been hunkered down with my latest project, Canning Across America (CAA).

With the founding group in Seattle, CAA is a nationwide collective of cooks, gardeners and food lovers committed to the revival of the lost art of "putting up" food. We've put together a snazzy Web site with recipes from chefs, canning how-to, safety info and inspiration all around. Stop by and see us! This week, we've got a groovy online discount for supplies made possible by Sur La Table.
Won't you join us?
